Govt starts to build eco-friendly huts for tourists across U'khand

The cost of the newly developed eco-freindly huts being raised by the tourism department will range between Rs.32 lakh and Rs.52 lakh. While the first project comprising eight huts at Landsdowne has been completed, almost several such projects are underway at different places - eight in Saataal Nainital , eight at Abot Mount in Champawat, five huts at Jageshwar in Almora, eight at Har ki Doon, six at Chilla in Haridwar, six in Kaudiyala in Tehri and four huts at Vishnu Prayag in Chamoli district.

Departmental sources informed nearly 57 eco freindly huts, as these egalitarian well furnished structures are known, are either in the process of construction or have already been raised at nine locations across the state. According to a rough estimate, the tourism department will spend nearly Rs.20 crore that is being sponsored by the central government.
